Fix the center first

A board with no center grows without limit. Before you open a dozen links, name the one category or purpose the browse is built around. That is the anchor, and everything else is measured against it.

Choose the anchor

One category or purpose. Pick the single thing the theme centers on — a bag, a watch, a sneaker, or a purpose like “one durable everyday bag”. If you name two, the board has two centers and the scope splits.

Judge each link by the anchor

For every link you are about to open, ask: does this answer the same purpose as the anchor? If it does, it can support or detail the theme. If it does not, it belongs in Leave Out.

Assign, then move on

Give each idea one role and move on. You do not need to exhaust every link — a link that does not serve the anchor can wait for another round.

A worked anchor

  1. Anchor: the theme centers on one bag.
  2. Same purpose? A strap idea serves the bag — Support.
  3. Same purpose? A charm is optional — Detail.
  4. Same purpose? A watch does not serve the bag — Leave Out.

Editorial example — not an outfit, recommendation, product set, or saved board.

When the anchor itself is unclear

If you cannot name the category or purpose, pause. Do not assign roles until the center is fixed — a vague anchor produces vague support and detail.
